When God Says: “Stay Set Apart”
"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” - Matthew 6:13-14 (NIV)
There are moments when I feel pulled to be where everyone else is, when it seems like I’m missing out by choosing the narrow road. But in those quiet moments, this is what I believe God speaks to my heart, rooted in His Word and full of His love:
“You will be tempted to look around and wonder what you’re missing. The world will try to convince you that joy is found where the crowd is, where the noise is, where compromise lives. But I have called you to something higher. Something deeper. The narrow path may feel lonely, but I walk every step with you.
I have said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5). My presence is not dependent on how surrounded you feel by others. It’s in the stillness, the separation, and even the solitude that I draw near. You are not forgotten, you are being refined.
Do not be deceived by the glitter of the world, it fades quickly. I offer you something eternal. In My presence there is fullness of joy, and at My right hand are pleasures forevermore (Psalm 16:11). The joy I give isn’t fleeting or performative. It’s rooted in Me. It doesn’t need a stage, a crowd, or applause. Just your willingness to stay close.
Trust that what I withhold, I do so in love. And what I give, I give in perfect timing. Keep your heart fixed on Me, and I will give you peace that doesn’t need an audience, joy that doesn’t require validation, and purpose that cannot be shaken.
You’re not missing out. You’re being set apart. And I will never let you go.”
This is what I felt in my spirit while reflecting on His Word and maybe it’s for you too.
